PowerPutt Hole Showcases are here, ready to turn your –10's into –15's and your –20's into record low scores!

Our next hole to get the Showcase treatment is Freaky Tiki #10, a lengthy par-3 that requires a precise tee shot in order to get the always appreciate hole-in-one. Although there are typically tricks or methods to acing a particular hole, the road to the ace on hole 10 is straightforward and right in front of your eyes.

The hole slopes severely downward towards a giant blocking device in the center of the hole. There is, however, a small (and we mean small!) opening in the center of this structure that leads right towards the pin.

If you are able to hit your ball in the gap you're going to end up with a hole-in-one as long as your speed is reasonable. Even if your ball comes in at an angle, the pathway towards the hole will straighten out this shot and you're guaranteed to walk away with a one.

Freaky Tiki #10The challenging part of hitting this small gap is when you're given a tee box far from the center. In these instances, you'll have to do your best work to aim and execute a straight shot from the angle you are given. While the gap is small, it's not even close to impossible, and could be something that you master with some practice.

You won't hit this gap every time and you're bound to walk away with par. If and when you do miss the gap, you'll end up having to bank your second shot around the structure and likely tap in for your par. Be careful that you don't hit too hard of shot and go into the water beyond the pin. While it's rare that this water will come into play, you could turn a bad hole into a disaster if you aren't careful.

Laying up and playing for birdie on this hole is an option, but I really don't encourage it. Smart play is never a bad thing, but laying up here might not guarantee you a birdie, which is why you should avoid it. Banking your tee shot off either the right or left panels could work and leave you with a tap-in birdie but you're never quite sure what kind of bounce you'll get – especially considering how much the speed can vary on this shot.

Instead, play for the gap. With time and experience you should be able to hit it more times than not and give yourself a big advantage with the extra stroke. Worst-case scenario is you walk away with par, which is acceptable. By not going for the ace you are going away with birdie at best.

This is smart risk you almost have to take.
