PowerPutt

PowerPutt Hole Showcases are here, ready to turn your –10's into –15's and your –20's into record low scores!

The next hole to be dissected is Skull Island #17. A par-4 that provides unique challenges each time through and could also require a nice amount of luck to nail that elusive par-4 ace.

As was the case with our previous Hole Showcase, Skull Island 17 comes at perhaps the most important part of a player's round. Whether you're going for a career best or you're simply looking to beat a buddy, holes 17 and 18 can make all the difference.

Here's how to show off your PowerPutt prowess.

This is a HUGE hole that starts players on top of a ship staring down at seven different holes that lead to the actual cup. All seven of the holes are pathways to seven separate canyons that send the golf ball flying towards the lower part of the two-tiered green. Get it in the right hole, and you have a chance to go in. It's not that easy, or is it?

The hole actually changes up every single time you'll play! Not only will the tee box change, but the proper hole on top will as well. Lucky for you, however, you'll know exactly where to hit it.

Red CupThere will be one of these holes that always have a red circle around it - AIM FOR THIS CIRCLE. When this hole is in the front of the green, the shot will be relatively easy. When the marked spot is in the back, the shot will require an outstanding shot. No matter what hole you aim at, the key on this shot is speed.

Unlike hitting it into the cup, these holes are ultra-sensitive. A shot with any sort of speed has no shot at going down. This means you want your tee shot to just barely creep over the edge and into the hole. The different hole positions will require you to play a few times through, but this shouldn't be too tough.

The next part of your task is to hope. Even if you hit it at the prefect speed in the perfect hole, there's still a good chance you won't get the ace. It will disappear out the bottom and shoot out a canyon on the lower part of the hole, but even hitting it in the ideal cannon doesn't mean your guaranteed a great score.

Your top shot would obvoiously be the be the hole-in-one, but trust me when I say that it can be tough to come by. The next best bet is a tap-in eagle, which should be doable as long as you don't end up on the lowered portion of the second part of the green. Hit it in the wrong hole on top, and you're in trouble. You'll be left with a long putt with plenty of break, and the eagle will become nearly impossible.

Control your speed, and hit it where you're supposed to and good things will happen. While you won't get the best result every time, the worst score you'll walk away with in most cases is an eagle, and eagles lead to big scores and wins!
