PowerPutt prodigy T.J. Karmele had been awfully quite over the last couple of months. The Texas native had quickly become the world's best trackball mini-golfer, posting a –30 on all three of the courses and an all-time low –32 on Freaky Tiki! Still, the man who seemed to always have an answer to his own personal bests remained quite for the past few months.
On September 2nd, however, T.J. returned to the PowerPutt spotlight in a HUGE way.
Playing at his home bar Al's Hideaway in Dallas, T.J. fired a –34 on Freaky Tiki, besting his personal best by two strokes and raising the bar he's already elevated yet again!
His –34 is only three shots away from a perfect round, an unbelievable feat for those who have played the game. PowerPutt creator Ralph Melgosa offered these thoughts on his latest achievement.
"This guys is unbelievable, and his latest score has everyone impressed. Shooting –32 is crazy, but being able to best that be two strokes is even crazier. I didn't think a perfect game was truly possible, but I have a feeling that T.J. will push this and maybe make me eat my words. I really hope he does. Congrats to him on an unbelievable round, and I imagine we will see more to come."
For T.J., he believed this kind of game was only a matter of time. He contributes his small layoff of achievements to an adjustment made at the bar. "The game switched to a bigger 42" screen T.V. and it took me a while to alter my game," said T.J. on shooting his –34. "Now that I've gotten use to the bigger and better look, I'm hoping for more games like this in the future. Stay tuned!"
